ABOUT OLIVIA

Olivia is a dedicated lactation consultant whose work is rooted in deep respect for the human body’s tremendous ability to nourish and heal. After over a decade of educating birth parents about the importance of human milk in the NICU — where she saw firsthand how much better babies thrived with their parent’s milk — she became fascinated by lactation science and eager to learn more. What began with reading a lactation textbook in her spare time quickly became a calling: she wanted to help families succeed in feeding with confidence and clarity.

Her journey from NICU nurse to Certified Lactation Counselor and IBCLC reflects a lifelong commitment to helping families through one of life’s most vulnerable stages — the early weeks of feeding and bonding with a new baby.

APPROACH

Natural doesn’t always mean easy.

Olivia believes breastfeeding is beautiful and natural — but not always intuitive. One of the most common things she wishes families knew before beginning their feeding journey is that it can take six to eight weeks to truly feel “in a groove” with nursing. Planning for that adjustment period can reduce frustration and help families feel calmer and more prepared from the start.

She also works with parents to dispel common myths, including misunderstandings about milk supply. While some parents fear they “don’t make milk,” Olivia explains that in most cases the body can make enough milk — it’s the early stimulation and effective latch that determine supply. Without effective removal of milk, the body doesn’t receive the signals it needs to produce more, which can lead families to believe their supply is low when in fact production simply hasn’t been established yet.

Olivia’s approach combines patience, clear education, and thoughtful problem-solving to help families find rhythm and confidence in feeding.
